2009 Sepang Drag is coming again. Opening is curtain with unwanted incident on March 14, we surely hope the management will come back with a better scene for us for the next round. Well, its time to move forward, as the Sepang International Circuit management has taken measures to sanction the race internationaly by requiring all racers to follow new line of rules such as having AAM or MAM license(which means you are covered during the race and the race is recognised bt AAM), wearing racing suits (and a few other rules) ,we also want them to provide time machine as we have been hand clocked at this "international track's" event for at least the last 1 or 2 years..(too long,we talk about this among us again and again..till we are too used to it) and that's sad. And on the 14th March, as all racers is all set enthusiastly,with their license and racing suits, SIC did'nt comply their own ASR rule, no 18.1 - A “Christmas Tree” light system will be used. The track was'nt fit for race that time. Sadly, everybody has opt to withdraw their cars from the competetion. Agreed by SIC, the event was cancelled. The entrance fee for competitors were hold for next event,spectators ticket was refunded but parking ticket money were not refunded though theres no event to watch.
Though drag race is just a small part of the country's racing scene,all this same enthusiast have been colouring all other racing scenes since from our Batu 3 time. Having Batu 3 taken away from us in 2002, we have lost our playground and the goverment promise that SIC will be the replacement . But we see now this international track are for the internationals. So thats why u see the "nationals" go street racing huh!
But somehow we hope to see better things this coming 2nd May and the whole 2009!
